Mental health education for high school and college students

Teaching Mental Health with

Stories of Lived Experiences

About kaleidoscope speakers bureau

Our Mission

Kaleidoscope Speakers Bureau is an empathetic, engaging, knowledgeable and impactful teaching tool that educates college and high school students on material relating to mental health through lectures about lived experiences. With their dynamic personality and innovative approach, each speaking engagement is unique. Most high schools have us come to their health classes during mental health week to share our stories with sophomores and juniors.

Start the Conversation

We share our stories of living with mental illness to teach others how to get help, change the way society views those living with a mental illness and help eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide. The sharing of our personal stories helps to increase understanding and awareness of risk factors and warning signs for mental illness and suicide by educating high school and college students about mental health, mental illness, and recovery. We want to continue to be part of the movement to stop stigma against mental illness, reach as many different groups in the community as possible, and most of all to help others know that they are not alone.

Fundraisers & Donations

Thanks to continuing donations and grants we are able to provide our services FREE to high schools and colleges. We did not want finances to be a barrier preventing Maine children from getting the education and support they need. We encourage all schools we speak at to support Kaleidoscope through a fundraiser. Additional donations are greatly appreciated so we can continue to reach more schools.

HeLP US GET TO YOUR SCHOOL!

$$$ FOR MILEAGE COSTS $$$

We are trying everything to get mental health education into your children's high school or college. We have even offered to speak without charging the schools a fee for our speakers so no child who lives in a school that says $50 is too much for mental health education. Gas isn't cheap, so please donate to help us fill up our tanks to get to your child's school and we will take care of the rest. Your donations will help show your local high school that mental health education is important and it is worth the cost of filling up our gas tanks! We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit public charity so all donations are tax exempt.

Consider having Kaleidoscope Speakers Bureau as your next school fundraiser! We will work with you to make this possible! Just contact us!
